The National League could yet seek to conclude their season.
The Daily Star says members of the League held a conference call meeting on Tuesday and voted to end the current campaign now due to the coronavirus crisis.
The decision was then made clear to the Football Association, who were asked to ratify the proposal.
But since then the immediate future of the National League has been shrouded in confusion.
Some clubs thought a message that the season 'was going to be closed' was confirmation that a request would be made to the FA for the campaign to be brought to an end immediately.
This is something many clubs want as they look to save money on player contracts, staff wages and general running costs.
