Sporting Lisbon midfielder Manuel Ugarte is the subject of a serious tug of war at present.
The Uruguayan has a buyout clause of £52 million, which PSG are said to have triggered.
Per The Mirror, Chelsea are not giving up in the race to sign Ugarte, who is their primary midfield target as well.
The London club are willing to pay a higher fee that is spread out over several years.
The Blues would also pay to buy a minority stake in Sporting, setting up a relationship between the two clubs.
There is no confirmation that Sporting are interested in such a deal, given PSG's offer may give them more money immediately.
